Sew Generous--whether it's pajamas for the family, scarves or tote bags and purses for your friends, or just a thoughtful Gift Card entitling the bearer to "free mending service" it's the season to share your talent. Here the little girls have pants made from the solid "Ralph's Jammies" while the mom's have solid pants and the coordinating lilac striped top. The little girls tops are lilac t-shirt knit with Hello Kitty appliques...those tops manage to be worn all day sometimes. |

Sew Comfortable--The Holiday Party cranberry red and charcoal metallic fabric would be a terrific little jacket or sleeveless jacket ala Fashion Sewing Group pattern 1962. Worn with charcoal trousers or over a basic dress in a charcoal wool flannel as shown here together would make comfortable and festive coordinates without being over the top glitzy. It also coordinates nicely with the Cranberry wool crepe in this issue. Either way, you can't miss. When you do want a bit more glamour, the New Year's Romance black and metallic fabric too the right is wonderful. It can be used with either side for the right side, more black solid or more metallic. A short jacket with your basic black dress, or a long cardigan style with black silk pants would provide you with a couple of ideas to make your holiday and New Year's Eve as romantic as you'd like. |

This very unusual fabric I named Dinner Party can be used nearly all year 'round. It's two layers of a black voile like fabric that secure ivory yarn woven in between. It's not that sheer, but rather when it's against your skin, it becomes opaque--an unlined little jacket may be just the thing for a warm weather winter vacation--the tropical breeze would circulate right through it. | |||||||||||||||||||

I've seen this elsewhere upwards of $25.00, it's just $6.00/yard. Mostly teal blue and black irridesecent tiny beads outline the scroll pattern to enhance the borders of a plain sweater--very little time +very little money =a big result. I've tried it on a variety of colored sweaters and it blends nicely into greens, white, beige, blues, grey, navy and black. |
