For the "puzzle dress" the 1960 top pattern was lengthened and a flared panel was attached...all with a serger cover stitch or simply by overlapping a serged edge over another. Simple to do in a wool doubleknit, the neckline was also changed to a boat neck style. A square neck was trimmed with grosgrain ribbon not only for accent, but also to give the neckline stability and body. The sleeves were also given a buttoned ribbon strap.
